Will my oak frame need maintenance?

Over time oak changes colour. In as little as 12 months, you will find oak has turned to its traditional best with a silver hue. Oak does not require maintaining as it is naturally resilient to the elements, it has anti rot properties and it is very resistant to insect and fungal infections.

To prevent silvering to keep its original colour and oil treatment can be applied in order to do this.

How long does it take?

Each project is individual (bespoke) and therefore the time taken can vary considerably. For a smaller oak frames with no additional extras the process from start to Finnish would be around a 3-5 working days. And for our bigger frames or the summer houses we provide they can be anywhere from 3-6 weeks with all the additional extras.

Oak's natural strength and workability allow for quick assembly. With precise engineering and the right construction techniques, building with oak offers swift results without compromising quality.

How long will my oak frame last?

Traditional green oak framing is a centuries old building method, whilst there is no exact lifetime for an oak framed building. there are oak framed buildings that still stand today well in excess of 200 years.
